Sun in H-Alpha Bright
The Sun in hydrogen alpha, the red line of hydrogen at 656.28 nm, exposed for the disc rather than the limb, so the fibril texture of the chromosphere and the bright plage carry the frame. A prominence stands off the lower left edge and an active region sits right of centre. The DayStar Quark passes half an angstrom or less of that line, narrow enough to show the chromosphere, the layer above the visible surface, instead of the surface itself.
